Gautam did his schooling from Delhi Public School, graduated in Economics from Delhi University and did his Business Administration (Finance) from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Edmonton Canada. Here, he began working and held jobs as diverse as a flight attendant, waiter and a salesman where he successfully sold eight vacuum cleaners to one household, which was holding a family reunion!

And with this came the realization that to excel in one's career and achieve prosperity, professional qualifications alone were not enough. Hundreds of thousands of poor souls go through life, hating their mediocrity and wishing that they could change their stars. They seek the key to success. |

Gautam discovered that despite all the material comforts of the West, India was where his heart lay. This was his homeland and this was where he belonged. He felt that Indians were missing out on opportunities simply because they lacked the right tools. And to fully realize the potential they were born to achieve and unlock the secrets of success, all they required was a certain life - enhancing tool that would hone their mental, physical and interpersonal faculties. |

Thus began the Personality Development course, specially tailored to empower the Indian Market. This programme was entirely conceptualized on his work experience abroad and has been greatly influenced by lectures and seminars of eminent experts from USA, particularly Zigzigler and Anthony Robbins . What began in 1993 with just 4 students has today surpassed 30,000 people from all walks of life. |

If there has been any regret, it was that he was unable to reach out and touch more lives. His groundbreaking course has already helped thousands of students dramatically improve their performance. But Gautam is not one to rest on his laurels and his burning desire was to share his life - enhancement skills with as many people as possible. Thus, the idea of writing a self - help book germinated. Informal talks with former students revealed that one aspect of the course, which really appealed to them, was the section on First Impressions. His widely read column too, is inundated with queries on how to make a lasting impression. This formed the genesis of his book " The First Four Seconds " |
